I'll have you know some of this music has the quality to stand next to the great works of classical musicians. Its influence has spread enough that it is worthy of attention. For one, I know FFIV's "Theme of Love" is played in Japanese schools as part of their education.

If you are one of those lovers of the modern pop music I unwillingly keep hearing of, that would explain much.
