I had a problem with my Wii U: The sound is cutting out every few minutes. All is fine and then sometimes there is no sound. So I´ve read very much about it and could not find a real solution.
Here is what has worked for me:
Install the latest firmware update for your TV.
It seems some Tv´s have problems recognizing the Wii U through HDMI fully, so that should help.
Other things that I´ve read that didn´t help me but might help:
Don´t use surround sound - switch everything to stereo.
