A Good Game?

Hi, I was wanting some advice on a good game to play. I have a friend that had a game on his computer where u pick a person u want to be and then u go around getting potions and weapons, some fighting and getting like hints, maps and jus stuff like that in general. So does anyone know of any games like that for the wii, virtual console or whatever.
