Animal Crossing question/problem

OK here is the situation. I donated 200,000 bells to the city and got the bridge. After the bridge was done, I donated 300,000 bells to the city, then 100,000, and after that another 100,000 for a total of 500,000 bells donated. The problem is no fountain. Do you have to donate the 500,000 bells all at once? I'm not going to be happy if I've lost 500,000 bells lol. That's a lot of fishing! I guess it's not 500,000 bells total donated over time, otherwise the first 300,000 donation would have covered it after the initial 200,000 bells donation. Have I done something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm about to :mad2:

Don't feel bad. I donated 500,000 bells all at once and got nothing out of it.
