Capcom has today released the first of six games in its Arcade Classics series for download via Wii Virtual Console. The two games in question are SonSon and Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando, and cost 800 Wii Points each.

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando is the original Commando, where the player gets to take control of Super Joe and shoot their way in eight directions towards enemy territory, chucking grenades to soften up advance targets as they go, in the classic that launched a million Commando clones.

With SonSon, players get to experience the original adventures of the Monkey King in this time-honoured side-scrolling classic, as they rapidly switch between different levels of play to shoot dangerous enemies in the face. It first appeared in the arcades in 1984, and has been quite rare up until this point. Now everyone gets to enjoy it!

Other Capcom Arcade Classics due to be released on Virtual Console are Ghosts ‘N Goblins, Exed Exes, Black Tiger and 1942.
