OK, so I never leave my standyby on... which means that my weather and news channels don't stream or have quick forcasts (fine by me). But ever since I did the update with SMG, all my channels stay connected, and provide updates immediately after wii is turned on. And yes the light is still red when off, and the wii generates no heat.

Seems like a win win to me. (i dont message with the wii)

Has anyone else noticed this change on theirs??

That sounds about right but the update simply incoporates your Mii's just like MP3 updates this feature when first played.

Sounds great, but I'll be keeping my wii on standby anyway.

Sick avatar man, one of the best ones here.

Yeah I updated it this morning, and didn't notice the change.
I'm keeping my on standby as well though.
