The long-awaited conclusion to the Bit.Trip saga, Bit. Trip Flux arrived on WiiWare today. CommanderVideo returns to the screen for his final adventure, with some classic paddle-based gameplay of the type that started the whole Bit.Trip phenomenon off. Here’s a list of the game’s key features, courtesy of publisher Aksys Games:

•********** New power-ups, such as the full-screen paddle.
•********** New beat types, including Avoid Blobs.
•********** Mid-level checkpoints.
•********** Classic BIT.TRIP BEAT Gameplay with all the modes—including the new Meta Mode.
•********** Bit Shifter returns as the Chiptune guest star!

So, is that really it though? Can this really be the end of the Bit.Trip saga as CommanderVideo goes home? Well it certainly seems like it judging by the replies from the makers, Gaijin Games via the BitTrip Twitter page.

“We don’t think it’s particularly sad,” they told one disconsolate fan. “We think it’s a joyous ending, but a melancholy goodbye to the series.” Sob!
