EA Games has wasted no time in releasing the first 10 screenshots from the forthcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 game. It looks like EA has been true to its word of making the game much more action intensive. Here’s David Heyman, producer of the Harry Potter film series, talking about the game:

“We have enjoyed a tremendous partnership with EA in collaborating on the Harry Potter video games. Over the years, the games have grown even closer to the films in their art direction and in their spirit so it is exciting to know that the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 video game will capture the action and suspense of the upcoming film.”

The plot of both the game and the film revolves around Harry, Ron and Hermione embarking on a do-or-die mission to track down and destroy the secret to Voldemort’s immortality – the Horcruxes. On their own, without any guidance from Professor Dumbledore, they must rely on each other more than ever, despite the Dark Forces that threaten to divide them.

In the wizarding world, the long-feared war has begun, as Voldemort’s Death Eaters seize control of the Ministry of Magic and even Hogwarts, terrorizing and arresting all those who oppose them. Even so, Harry Potter, their most prized quarry, still eludes them.

As Harry tries to reach the Horcruxes before Voldemort finds him, he uncovers an ancient and almost-forgotten tale – the legend of the Deathly Hallows. If the legend is true, it could give Voldemort the very power he craves so desperately.

Look for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 to be released on all major consoles, including the Nintendo Wii, this autumn.
