Get Ready for All Star Karate on the Wii!-1.052010-02-09 14:20:45Maura S

If you’ve been thinking lately that the one thing the Nintendo Wii has been lacking is an arcade-style karate game, then you’re either an executive at THQ Inc. or some sort of mystical fortune teller! Either way, it’s good news all round, as THQ has today announced that they are bringing All Star Karate exclusively to the Wii this spring. All Star Karate is the first extension in THQ’s All Star franchise, which kicked off with All Star Cheer Squad back in 2008.

In the game, players get to punch, kick and chop their way through their bouts, using play features based on real karate moves. The game will be fully Wii MotionPlus compatible, enabling players to experience the life of a karate trainee under the guidance of a wise, but serious, sensei, with the ultimate aim of attaining a black belt, the highest honour in karate. Gameplay modes include a single-player Career mode and a two-player Challenge mode in which you get to spar with a friend. Looks like a lot of fun! Pity they couldn’t incorporate the Wii Balance Board as well.

cool, cant wait for this.

be interesting to see how they do kicks tho?
