As with all the great rock stars, the video games behemoth that is Guitar Hero never knows when to quit. The world’s most popular music game series is set to return bigger and better than ever this autumn, with Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, featuring an all-new, story-driven Quest Mode, a completely redesigned rock-inspired guitar controller, and the biggest on-disc selection of rock music ever in a Guitar Hero game.

In Quest Mode, using any combination of instruments, players will embark on an epic rock journey from the stage of NYC punk club CBGBs, to the “molten lava fields of rock treachery” (might need to check your sat nav on that one), as eight Guitar Hero characters transform into rock warriors that must join together to use their unique powers to help the Demi-God of Rock take down the Beast and save rock n’ roll.

Quickplay+, another new mode, features 13 gameplay challenges for every on-disc track, as well as most downloadable and importable songs from Guitar Hero World Tour forward. Gamers can try their hand at challenges such as Band Streak, High Score and Power Challenge, and all-new Challenge Leaderboards have been created in order to record the outrageous scores that are possible with Quickplay+.

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock’s on-disc set list features more than 90 tracks, including classics from the likes of Black Sabbath, Megadeth, Slipknot, Queen, Muse and KISS. Awesome Megadeth guitarist Dave Mustaine has also written and recorded an original track for the game called “Sudden Death”, which was inspired by Quest Mode’s storyline. Along with original songs, the set list also includes special re-records by legendary rock acts, as well as tracks from bands that are making their music video game debut. The Wii version of the game is currently being developed by Vicarious Visions.
