Activision announced today that it has released Ice Age: Continental Drift – Arctic Games on all major consoles including the Wii. In the game, fans get to participate in zany sporting events with their favourite Ice Age characters, including Manny, Sid, Diego, and many more. After a secret treasure falls into the hands of the Ice Age gang, they start fighting among themselves over who gets to keep it, and then come up with the idea of settling the matter once and for all with a series of wintery sporting events. Clearly this release has been timed to fit in with the imminent start of the summer Olympics in London, as although it’s supposed to be summer, it actually feels much more like winter! Anyway, in the course of the game you get to play as Manny, Diego, Sid and other characters from the series as they take part in competitive games such as glacier hopping, ski jumping, and squirrel cannon. Available gameplay modes include story mode, free play, and tournament-style, as the pals attempt to win the secret treasure either on the Herd or Pirate team.

Expect to pay around $29.99 for the Wii version of the game.
