I'm having problems adding friends to my address book

I'm having problems adding friends to my address book. When I try adding a friend, the both of us get an "error message" that says our WiiConnect settings must be changed in order to add one another. HELP!

Hmmm.. is your Wii Connect 24 on?? That's the only thing I can think of, off the top of my head.

What is the exact error message?

the error message says that it's waiting for my friend to accept and sometimes it says to make sure that our wii connect settings are correct

If you've both registered each other's codes then all you should need to do is is turn on wiiconnect24. I would say double-check that it is on and that it has standby mode enabled. Otherwise just give it a while.
