Hey all. A while ago (original thread: http://www.wiichat.com/nintendo-wii-hardware/25806-japanese-wii-virtual-console-uk.html) I asked about using a Japanese Wii in the U.K and whether the virtual console download service would be affected. At the time nobody could guarantee it would from experience, but I'm happy to report that it does. Apologies if this has already long been established, but I just thought I'd update to let people know.

As of 4th September 2007, a Japanese Wii will work in the U.K (with an AC adapter) and the virtual console has no problems connecting to and downloading the games from the Japanese servers. Of course, you cannot (at least currently) change your region or language on a Japanese Wii and you cannot download the English language versions of the games, and clearly you cannot play U.K region games on it, but we new that already.

In case anyone is interested, the adapter I bought is this one:

Nintendo Wii Mains Adapter 110V-240V Power Supply
£7.98
