Moving into a different code region

I'm in America, and thinking about buying a Wii... however, I'm going to be moving to Australia next year, and want to take my consoles with me. I'm already going to have to import games from America for my Xbox, and I don't want to bother with another console that requires me to buy games from my old region.

Is there a way to set your Wii for a new region? I know computers will let you reset your region code three times before it permanently locks, is there any way to do that on the Wii, or buy a new region chip or something?
