Need help on Avatar burning earth game..please!

I am having a big problem with level six (the lake laougi section). I cannot get by the area where the corkscrew elevator, brings you up to retrieve the box. You need to pull the switch with one player, and I assume the other player must ride the elevator up to get the box?! In this area you have prince zuko and his uncle, as your players to get this done. Everytime I get anywhere near the switch you pull, the other player jumps off the corkscrew elevator and it goes up with nobody on it. I cannot figure out how to keep one of the players on the elevator, while pulling the switch?! Please help me as I have been stuck on this area for an hour now!!:crazy::mad5:
