Hey guys,im new here...

Hopefully getting the wii for x-mas as well as a couple games.Love to play hockey,and i also own a 360 and next year a ps3

EDIT:
I have a question as well,bare with me if its a noob question,but can you,ex. baseball,swing it out of range of the sensor bar and not have it read on the screen.such as can you take full swings or is it not realistic in that point of view?

Welcome.

The sensor bar is only used for pointing. Swinging, shaking, pushing buttons on the remote all are registered on the Wii via bluetooth wich has a large range (30+ feet I think).
