non working games

for the entire time ive had my wii, sometimes when i put in an game, itll try to update. it always fails. i shut the wii down( i mean totally, unplug the power cord so no power watsoever is going into the wii) and about 15 minutes later, i turn it back on, and it works:yesnod: but, recently, it does the same thing, i unplug the power, 1 hour later, still doesnt work. 2 days later, still doesnt work. and also, it works for the newer games, such as boom blox bash party, or murumasa and the demon blade, but it wont play older games like order up, or okami( which im dieng to play). its almost as if its gained a mind of its own and only plays the games it likes. any idea on how to fix it?
