Picking a Router

I got a net gear. Exept we had to delete a bunch of security to get the router to work. Is there any router where I don't have to delete security to get the router to work? Maybe even something totally different from a router that still get's wi-fi. My budget is $50.

And would Fry's carry this item? Fry's is the store I go to to get all my electronics.
