Q wrt Intial Setup with Pioneer 4270 PDP

I received my Wii today and have a question regarding setup. Specifically, in conjunction with my Pioneer 42" plasma (PDP-4270HD) I have the aspect ratio set to 16:9. However, in the dialog which allows changing the screen resolution I am prevented from selecting "EDTV/HDTV"--Wii only allows me to select the other choice which is the standard resolution. Wii is attached to input 4 on the display. It has the requisite red/white/yellow inputs and i dont think its different from the other inputs except in its physical placement on the side of the unit. Im not familiar with what the image is supposed to look like so dont know if Im already experiencing the best it has to offer. What give, any ideas?

You need the component cables, not the cables that came with the Wii.

Im a bit confused, are you referring to an optional cable that Nintendo offers? Can I simply plug the cable provided into the component inputs on the TV?

The cable that comes with the Wii needs to be pluged into the Scart socket.

You have to buy extra component cables for the Wii, I recommend the offical Nintendo ones, mine work perfectly.
