Quick questions about Wii regions

Is the Wii region specific... I want to purchase a wii for a family member in Colombia, South America.... Is South America getting their own version???

If you buy a Wii form Japan, English or American games won't work...

Thats all I know so if you want to get a Wii for someone in South America get it from South America OR North America. Though the Regions could be...

Asia
Europe
South America
North America

Though AMERICA could just be one big one. I live in UK so I dunno

aslong as the Wii is a NTSC version and not a PAL output version you'll be fine.
