Remote not working, blinking lights

My remote has stopped working and when I try to use it the lights at the bottom all simultaneously blink for a few seconds.

Solution? I have tried inserting new batteries twice, but it hasn't worked yet. Granted, they were lying stray around the house and could be used.

Did you try re-syncing the Wiimote to the console?

Try syncing them. Open up the battery cover and there is a red button, and there is also one where the sd card goes on the wii. Push both of those buttons and it should work.

Protip: Press the wiimote one before the console one.
