Remotes unsync at startup of Link's Crossbow Training

Late to the Wii party, just had a system given to us. Everything working great, all remotes BUT ......

Only the first remote stays synced when starting Link's Crossbow Training, the other two do the 4 light blink and then will not resync. It has a multiplayer button.

Confirming this probably some demo game that only allows one player? All the other games work as should.

Apparently, the "multiplayer" aspect of Link's Crossbow Training is takin' turns in aiming for the highest score. No simultaneous multiplayer, sorry to say.
