Singaporean Wii's

I live in the Uk and I have the chance to get a Wii from Singapore. Does anyone know if will work in the UK with UK games?

Yeah, possibly, though I have heard that they've relesed the American version in Singapore. Either way, it aint good news. However, isn't Japan region 2 DVD, as the UK is?
