Super Mario Galaxy - 2 Player action!?

According to the Nintendo-Europe Website SMG will support 2 player gaming. At least when you click on more specs it sais "up to 2 Players".

No need to get snappy. I dont know why you would play SMG with 2 players but w/e. Its pointless and defeats the entire point of the adventure part of the game IMO.

I heard from some other thread that like the 2nd player will control certain powers camera and other like 3rd party help to aid the main player through the game. I dont know if it was required to have a player 2 but i heard its supposed to make it alot easier for the player 1.

But dont quote me on this as i am unsure myself

The fact that there's only 1 character on screen and player 2 only has the remote pretty much confirms what you said.

But what exactly P2. does I want to know.

Yes what happend to mario 64 DS ro new super mario bros? they'll just put in new minigames for 2 players or something.
