Telltale Games Signs Deal With Nintendo to Bring Games to the Wii

Telltale Games has announced that it has signed a deal with Nintendo to bring its extremely successful adventure games to the Wii. The first game to be released for Wii as part of this new deal will be the best-selling Back to the Future: The Game, which has had more than one million downloaded episodes on PC. Unlike Telltale’s usual downloadable, episodic method of distribution, however, the game will be available this October in retail stores in North America for $19.99.

“Securing a publishing agreement with Nintendo of America ensures that we can make our popular content available on every major console platform. This signing is a significant milestone in our long-term growth strategy, “said Telltale co-founder and CEO, Dan Connors. Back to the Future: The Game is a great fit for the Wii platform and we’re excited to bring it to retail this holiday.”

This is actually a really great move for Telltale and for Nintendo. Telltale has been responsible for reviving some true gaming classics, such as Sam & Max and The Secret of Monkey Island, and I think they’ll make a great addition to the Wii catalogue, and hopefully be appearing on the Wii U too in future.
