The Biggest Loser Wii fitness game was one of the most popular games of its type ever released on the system, so THQ’s announcement today that it’s working on a sequel is hardly a surprise. The new game is called The Biggest Loser Challenge, and is also based on the hit television show The Biggest Loser, just like the first game. *Fitness trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels will both be returning, as will actress and host Alison Sweeney. Here’s Bob Harper talking about the game:

“As evidence on The Biggest Loser, weight-loss plans are successfully completed at a higher rate when people do them together. The Biggest Loser Challenge video game allows friends and family to go through the journey together, making the experience more approachable and effective.”

The Biggest Loser Challenge video game will feature gruelling workouts, competitive challenges and weigh-ins, plus 50 all-new healthy meal recipes. Players will be able to create their own avatar and watch as their body transforms both on and off screen as they work out in four environments featured in the TV show – The Biggest Loser Ranch, The Biggest Loser Gym, The Biggest Loser Yoga Area and The Biggest Loser Boxing Ring. Players can work out with a friend in 4, 8 or 12-week programs that can be customised from more than 125 exercise moves, including upper body, lower body, core, cardio, yoga and cardio boxing. The game also allows player to select from 10 pre-set programs that range from a 4-week New You beginner program with a focus on all-round fitness, an 8-week Belly Buster program designed to slim, tone and strengthen stomach muscles, and an intense 12-week Fighting Fit program intended to improve agility, co-ordination and stamina through cardio boxing.

Look for the game to hit the stores this fall.
