The Wii's Dirty Little Secret - Outrage over 'Portals to Porno'

Listen to how they say it

Airports, Starbucks, schools, and even entire cities give people the opportunity to log on the internet with a Wi-Fi device like the Wii or even , sony's PSP. "This makes it very difficult to monitor as a parent. You can easily put safeguards in your house but it's impossible to monitor in a Wi-Fi world," says Foster.
I get the PSP, after all, it is a mobile device, all the way down to it's BUILT-IN SCREEN, but the Wii?

Hmm, the visual device, I guess you can always mod a car headrest television on top of the Wii, but a kid doing that? IDK

Power? Well, I guess you could mod a battery to it, but you have to know the correct wattage and how long the battery will last, the average kid barely knows about current let alone how to limit current to prevent blowing up something or having it underpowered

Controller, remember, the Wii's controller isn't a controller at all, it's a gyroscopic remote with an IR reciver, somehow I don't see that going over too well on the go

Finally size and weight, for size, well, it's not big, but compared to a handheld? I don't think I can stick the Wii in my pocket, and if ai can't stick it in my pocket, it dosen't have a high chance going out the door for mobile gaming, as for weight, the Wii is light weight, I wouldn't mind a portable console the same weight as the Wii, but add the battery, the car headrest televison, and something to replace the gyroscopic remote, that thing will weigh quite a bit in the end

And unless you live next to a starbucks or other establisment close enough to recieve their Wi-Fi (which I don't think much do), I don't see the Wii ever being connected to a starbucks Wi-Fi WAP or other establishment withe Wi-Fi access, maybe a neighbour's WAP, but I don't think so, if the Wii is going to be used on a wireless network, it's going to be a wireless network located in the house, and like the site said, there are security measures that can be used, for example, blocking servers, might not be the pleasent of computers in a house or software on a computer, but it can be set up, and it can block pornography

They have a better chance telling me that the electrical signals emitting from my Wii can cause cancer

The DS and the PSP on the other hand, that's something they should be looking into, and the fact that there isn't a patent on the PSP's UMDs, meaning anybody can make UMDs, including the pornography business (is it even a business?)

Also, the #1 user of the web browser on my Wii is me, and guess what? I'm 18, I have the right to look at porn if I choose to

hmmm make a X button for direct connection to porn...
ha, lol, I know how that would end up

child: "mommy, what does the X button do?"
mother: (thinking child is on computer) "it closes the window, sweetie"
child: *clicks button*
Wii: *produces sexual sounds*
mother: ":yikes: WHAT ARE YOU WATCHING ON THERE? YOU ARE GROUNDED"

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

eh? why're people even bothered...? they're kids they're just interested!

it's like telling a dog not to lick itself, or a teenager not to touch othemselves - it's going to happen no matter that you say or do... unless you chop 'it' off *eep!*, even so i'm sure they'd find some way to do it

... like Nintendo say... 'touching is good' =P

*whew* im glad i havent told my parents about the wiis online capabilities. what a waste of breath  those people will be the death of us all!!! maybe not, but their crazy!

Christian group huh? Now, I'm not trying to attack the religion, but do they allow their children to read the Bible? The mental images you can get from reading it are sometimes... err... well heres a quote.

Ezekiel 23:20
There she lusted after her lovers, whose genitals were like those of donkeys and whose emission was like that of horses.

Yes, I know, its not actually seeing it, but the way the Bible words things, and they're focusing on protecting the children, consider a child's ability to understand what that means. They may not know what a metaphor is. And then what?

I apologize if I offended anyone.

Yeah, you offended me because you have to take everything in context....

These people are not real Christians. Everyone (but they themselves) agree they are just stoopid extremists. Now please, for the sake of the children let this topic go?

If you want to read more on that...read the last couple pages with me/ssbb_lover and that other guy....can't recall his name.

^lol wow people are just finding out that u can look at porn on the wii its got internet of course u can and if the little kids are looking at it then they most likelyknow what it is so why not just let them its not like its doing any harm

Notice that I typed that they labeled themselves as a "Christian" group.

I'm not saying the Bible is wrong or the religion is wrong, I'm saying they're wrong. I put that quote up because I was showing that they don't need to try so desperatly to keep their children from it, because if they labeled themselves as Christian, they'd experience a form of it from reading the Bible.
