Dtp Entertainment announced fresh details today, including pricing, for its forthcoming wacky arcade racing game, TNT Racers. Built for “pick-up-and-play” fun, TNT Racers features 18 race tracks on which up to four players can get to experience the high-octane gameplay across three different single-player modes. As well as 45 Challenges across three different speed classes, there are also time trials and custom races where racers get to choose their own victory criteria and decide where to place pick-ups on the track.
But don’t make the mistake of thinking that racing is all about the serious business of speed in TNT Racers – there’s also a lot of sheer silliness and larking about, with fun pick-ups including Confetti Mines, Candy Cannons, Space Rockets and much more. To win the race, you simply have to create the most action, damage the most cars, pick up the most points and finish the most laps. Piece of cake!
One interesting feature introduced in the game is Shadow Racing, which entails players who are thrown off the track immediately rejoining the action as shadow racers, taking revenge on the remaining players.
TNT Racers also places a lot of emphasis on multiplayer action, with up to four players being able to compete locally as well as various online modes. There are also unlockables for those who make their way up the leaderboards, including new cars, new tracks and achievements.
TNT Racers is due for release in Q1 2011, when it will be available for download via WiiWare.
