If you thought that the Nintendo Wii pretty much has every game genre covered, then think again, because according to N3V Games, makers of Turbo Trainz, there’s never been a train racing game on the Wii before, but they’re about to change all that.

In the game, you get to “Become the train”, with a control system that has been designed to get you moving your arms back and forth and using the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to accelerate like a train along the track. Could be a laugh!

Once you’ve mastered the unique controls, you can race against the best train drivers from around the world to compete for the Turbo Cup. Your rivals won’t give in without a fight though, they’ll be firing missiles at you, or chucking hazards your way, including oil spills, to name but one of many obstacles. You, of course, can reply in kind! Other hazards you can expect to encounter as you race along are broken train tracks, earthquakes, mazes and animals.

The single-player mode features a total of 12 tracks split across 3 Cups, with 4 environments to visit. You can also play against up to three other people in the multiplayer mode.

Turbo Trainz will be released for the Wii at a date TBA this year.
