Twilight Temple - middle ramp

After you get the Sols and are ready to go up the middle ramp, how do you get across? See says to charge up your sword. Am I spose to charge it to jump across, or am I spose to be doing something with the red circle at the top?

EDIT: I'm referring to the part with the shadow "waterfall", just to be clear.

You need to get close to the fog and do a spin attack with the nunchuck, that will clear most of the fog for a few seconds, then you simply jump

Twilight Palace was one of my fave dungeons, even though it's short. I loved every second of it. The art in the entire area is 10/10
