What are the 2 USB 2.0 "slots" in the back of the Wii used for?

I'm not totally sure what they're major purpose is, but I do know you can plug in your MP3 player, and then put your MP3's onto the Photo viewer, and also to play your music in the background when playing Excite Truck, you can probably also plug a camera into it if you have a camera which is compatiable with a USB cord, also for the photo viewer
