Hey all,
I have read the lot of stuff that is circulating on the internet in regards to connecting the Wii to the AP WAP54GX from Linksys.
After several weeks of contacting Linksys and almost giving up I think that I nailed it!
I was running Firmware version 1.7 and even tried 2.0 Beta. The Wii connected and it worked well when it did but we were talking 20% of the times. Nerve wreaking!
So I tried Channel 1, 6, 11. Mixed b/g, G-only... same results always. This was driving me mad as I have a Linksys router WRT54GX and the Wii connected to it like charm every time. Why not this product from the Linksys which also uses SRX technology.
Ok... Today I thought... well as a last resort lets back track to an older version of the firmware.
I downloaded and installed ver 1.6. Reverted the Channel to 1 (it defaults at 6), activated the mixed b/g and Mac filtering. BINGO!
Wii is on auto-config for the connection and no prob whatsoever.
A few notes... Wii worked with channel 6 on the AP but not as fast as channel 1.
