Given the current success of dance games, especially on the Wii, with the massive sales racked up by the likes of Ubisoft’s Just Dance series, Nordic Games are clearly on the right track with their announcement today that they’re adding a dance game to their popular We Sing range, the aptly titled We Dance. The game, which is a Wii exclusive, gives you the choice of using either the Wii Remote, Nordic Games’ dance mat (the Star Mat), or a combination of both, with each offering varying levels of difficulty.

For authenticity, all dance steps have been fully choreographed by professional dancers, with the aim of helping to make We Dance a more rewarding and energetic experience.

“The market is primed for the release of We Dance, and it sits perfectly alongside our family of We Sing games,” said Nik Blower, sales and marketing director, Nordic Games. “We Dance is a great party and family gaming experience, accessible to people of all ages and abilities.”

The game will be released in May, with 40 licensed tracks spanning four decades of music, ranging from rock to pop, rap to disco and hip hop to drum ‘n’ bass. Many of the tracks will have the original videos. The game will be available to buy with one or two Star Mats, or as a standalone game.
