Are you ready, Gleeks?! Konami and Twentieth Century Fox have just announced that Karaoke Revolution Glee will be released this fall exclusively on the Wii. The game is set to feature the chart-topping music and incredible performances from the smash hit TV show, giving Gleeks the chance to experience life as the ultimate underdog as they perform the songs featured on the show. Fans will also get to play alongside their favourite Glee characters, including diva-in-training, Miss Rachel Berry, football star Finn Hudson, and inspirational teacher Will Schuester. Performing many of the memorable musical numbers from Season One, players will be able to belt out 35 chart-topping hits from the show, in the true spirit of the show. Players can also participate in multiplayer singing games, either by singing in harmony or performing a duet with a partner.

Karaoke Revolution Glee will utilise Karaoke Revolution’s proprietary voice recognition technology, which accurately recognises and scores vocal pitch and rhythm, helping gamers to nail those hard-to-hit notes and tricky harmonies. If only the legendary Sue Sylvester had used it during her version of Physical, the world’s ears might have been spared much pain. As an added bonus, unlockable content will also be available in a special gameplay mode where fans can unlock memorable show moments from Season One. Gary Rosenfeld, Senior Vice President, New Media for Fox Consumer Products, is already singing the game’s praises (pardon the pun).

“This is the kind of game that GLEE fans -or ‘Gleeks’ as they’re affectionately known – have been waiting for. We all know they’ve been singing along with their favourite characters during the show, and this game will let them rack up points in the process. This partnership also reflects our on-going strategy to develop GLEE as a long-term brand at retail.”

Glee is cancer for the ears.
