Whose the Best Character in Nintendo history?

Hey I just wanted to know who everyone thinks is the Best Nintendo Character in History? Personally I think it would come down to either Mario or Link, but who is yours and why?

Mario would have to be the best, he's Nintendo's icon. If I were to ask a random person off the street to name a Nintendo character it would most likely be Mario.

i would say it would be between mario and link, mario is the main character for nintendo but i think link would be up there as well
