WI-FI USB adaptor, no router, one computer

HA ok talk about REDUNDANCY but

Can i connect my wii to the internet with the WI-FI usb connector
even if i DONT have a router/wireless connection ALREADY set up?
I have comcast internet cable and only ONE computer...when i did a search
it looked like everyone already had some sort of network going with a router
and more than one computer.

So if i get a wi-fi usb and plug it in will that still work or not, or do i need to wait for the wire connecting adaptor that comes out next month? and if i CAN use the usb adaptor can anyone point me in the right direction for certain drives or whatever else i may need to make it work...unless its all in the manual setup from when and if i get one.

The usb wifi adapter is a substitute for a router. It will act like an access point and the wii will use the internet through the computer that has the usb adapter plugged into.

ok thats what i thought, but like i mentioned i wasent sure cuz every thread i saw someone stated about already having a router and multable computer networks set up and bla bla bla. Now that i know for sure feel free to delete this as there are about 400 other threads containing this same info

Would it have a secure connection?
becasue i might get a usb connector instead of a wireless router.
