Greetings. -

Is a Wii Classic console required to play GameCube games? My boy received SuperMario Sunshine as a gift -- we pop in the disc and it loads, and we're ultimately prompted to press Start, but none of the buttons on the Wiimote seem to do anything.

Any & all advice welcome.

Thanks.

I believe you need a GameCube controller and a GameCube memory card...

The Wii Remote doesn't work with Gamecube games, and neither will the Classic Controller. In order to play Gamecube games on the Wii, you need at least one Gamecube controller, and a Gamecube memory card if you wish to save your game data.

^^ 'tis true
also, you can find all the info you need in the wii manual
