Wii doesn't like long WEP passwords.

Hey all,

I got my wii working fine with my wireless router -- but I had to get rid of my reeaally long password that I have been using for a shorter one - since the wii didn't like the long one (Belking Wireless router).

Anyone have this issue?

How long is long? I used a 28 character WEP password and it worked fine.

I use a Motorola 6026 router.

Mine was 48.... and I had never had a problem with it.. until the Wii....

I had WPA SPA on my linksys router until I tried to connect my Wii with WPA SPA. For some reason the Wii could not connect with WPA SPA. Anyways, yeah I had the same problem where the keygen on the linksys router for WEP exceeds the Wii WEP key length. I ended up truncating as well, not a biggie since I'm not broadcasting and there's 5-6 other wireless routers in our apt complex .

well my pasword was 103 letter and my wii picked it up.
