Yes, but some people would love to replace their DVD player with just the Wii and still have a nice console to boot. Nintendo did some things wrong... you Nintendo hippies just need to stop and realize that.

yeah, being able to read dvd's would be cool and VERY practicle but its not that big of a deal

hmm...whats wrong with device consolidation? For starters it reduces amount of cables you need, free up the number of scart/component ports you have on your tv, reduce the number of remote controls you have, free up space in your entertainment cabinet......

i herd that nintendo would make a softwere up grade so you have the opsion to play dvds or not, this is only from some website so it might not be true.

To be honist I think they'll add a DVD channel. A free Update hopefully xD
