wii help:where is the friend code?

this will sound retarded to the ppl that have been playing wii's for awhile now.
but i just got mine..
and i don't know about the friend code thing
where do i find it?

Click on the message board (bottom right)
Click on create message (bottom left)
Click on the Adress Book (far right)
