wii wont update

i have a wireless router (linksys WRT54GS) connected as an access point to my wired router (BEFSR81). the wii can connect to the access point and it updated once, but now it wont update anymore. it just gets stuck for hours. my wireless laptop can connect fine, but not the wii. any suggestions?

is the router using wep? if it is take it off then put it back on after the update.

It wasn't, it is now but it still doesnt work.
