Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Duel Transer, the latest video game entry in the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, is available exclusively for Wii from today in North America. Based on storylines from the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s animated series on Cartoon Network, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Duel Transer provides players with an immersive Yu-Gi-Oh! experience by bringing the familiar competitive nature of free duelling and enriched storylines to the Wii.

The story centres around mysterious characters from the Duellist Corp who have travelled to the island of Ragnarok with the aim of battling in the competition held by one of the game’s original characters. The competition is called the Duel of Legend Cup, and features Yusei Fudo and Jack Altus as the stars of the show, as well as more than 4,500 cards including Star Strike Blast. Build your deck and duel against your favourite characters from the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s universe, including 20 new characters to interact with in Story Mode and Free Duel. Players get to compete through 13 duellist stages, each with a completely original honeycomb mapping system allowing for both linear and non-linear gameplay.

As ever with Yu-Gi-Oh! games, duelling is what it’s all about, and this game spares no expense in bringing duellists together all across the world by allowing for heads-up duelling via the Wii’s Wi-Fi connection. As well as online play, up to two players can duel locally as well.

Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s Duel Transer is available now for $39.99, and also comes packaged with three exclusive trading cards: Closed Forest, Fighter Ape and Roaring Earth.
