Are there ports that need to forwarded?

I do not have a Wii however I will be getting one. And would like to know if there are any ports that are to be forwarded to access Wii online?

Nope. Just search for an access point and enter any necesary information and you're ready to go. Nintendo is after a mass market with the Wii. Having to forward ports is way out of the league of the general public.

The only thing you might have to do is change the channel your wireless router operates on. I had mine set to 6 and I kept getting interference (cellphones, cordless phones) so I just changed it to 11. (1 will work also). No need to do that though unless you encounter problems...
