That would be awesome to go to in like a town or city or something, but in your own basement? Thats amazing.

Dude seems to like his games a bit too much though.

That's pretty awesome - a good buddy of mine has about 12-13 machines (a couple are "bartop" type machines and he has a StarWars [vector based] sit in/down). A friend of his works on arcade machines, pinballs, etc., and has a pretty decent business servicing privately owned machines!

There's definitely something about a standup, coin-op style machine. No matter how perfect the controls are on consoles, etc., they're never quite the same as an ol' school arcade machine.

I must admit, when I saw Prinny was the topic creator and the thread was titled "Best basement ever" I'll admit, I got a bit worried. xD

But anyway, that basement would be awesome.

CAN WE PLEASE?

I wonder how much it costs altogether.

The older arcade machines have more of a collectable value than inherent worth, so if you take your time, you can score some very cheap. Once they get into the "collector channel", those folks will do complete refurbs and bring them up to nearly new status but charge a good bit more.

Also most of the supporting electronics are simple, inexpensive and easy to fix (if you can run an o-scope and a soldering gun). My buddy I mentioned above bought at least a dozen that were only used for parts - the main trick is finding clean cabinets with good original artwork. I would say he doesn't have more than $1000 into any single machine, and probably has more like 300-500 into most of his (my buddy, not the guy in the video).
