Connect wii to laptop

I am trying to connect my Wii to a laptop, which connects to an LCD projector through VGA; this is for a classroom setting. What is the best way to do this?

Directly input the wii to the input on the projector. Why do you need it connected to the laptop?

The projector is ceiling mounted, so I thought going through the laptop would be best (laptop is also connected to SmartBoard). The laptop is connected directly to the projector with a vga cable.
