Donkey Kong Country VC question

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to purchase a Wii mostly because of the library of old school games available on the Virtual Console. One game I really want to play again is Donkey Kong Country, but I'm finding conflicting information online as to whether it is available on the Wii VC.

I'm going to be purchasing the original Wii (not the Wii U), and I'm looking for the original SNES Donkey Kong Country (not Donkey Kong Country Returns). Could someone with a Wii let me know if I'll be able to download the original DKC on the Wii VC?

The original three Donkey Kong Country were re-released about a year ago on the Wii VC after a couple years abscence. The Gamecube controller scheme is awkward so a Wii classic controller might be better.
