According to wii.nintendolife, Grinder will still remain a FPS on wii

Sticking with the view

Top-down shooter iteration is HD-only

Things were looking shaky for High Voltage Software's upcoming horror-fest The Grinder. What was supposed to be a Wii-exclusive first-person shooter in the vein of Valve's Left 4 Dead turned out to go the multiplatform route, and then oddly enough seemed to transform into a colorful top-down shooter along the lines of High Voltage's earlier Xbox game Hunter: The Reckoning.

All that Wii FPS work seemed to be up in the air, but now IGN has gotten word from Eric Nofsinger, High Voltage's chief creative officer, that Grinder is still on its original track for Nintendo's white box:
We have invested more than year into the Wii; the game is extremely fun, and frankly, we wouldn't want to see that work thrown away. But when we decided to add the 360 and PS3 platforms it didn't seem to make much sense to jump on the rainbow chasing treadmill of trying to do the same game for such dissimilar consoles and end up short changing one or the other.
So...what about the top-down thing?
The expansion of Grinder to 360 and PS3 and its subsequent change in gameplay and perspective has been somewhat misinterpreted as a universal change across all platforms. We still genuinely love the Wii and would ideally like to see a publishing partner pick up both a FPS Wii version and a third-person action version specific to the 360 and PS3.
The game still doesn't have a publisher on any platform, so the saga continues. That makes two Wii FPS' currently in development over at High Voltage.
