Is there a way to load 'backup' files without Homebrew channel?

Hi. I saw an inspirational video today (above) and as far as emulation is concerned, I take a very conservative stance, but this is a cool perspective and the Wii is perfect because it has the most VC options and all the classic consoles' controllers are compatible with the Wii for god's sake! Opinions aside, I was wondering, because of the Wii Shop channel apocalypse, is their a way to load 'backups' not using mods or the Homebrew channel?

Nope, All you can do at this point is softmod the Wii (vWii) and pirate the VC games and any other games. It's quite easy and honestly don't feel bad about it.
You're post awfully reminds of how I used to be and think before I jump started my homebrewing years ago.
