As for a name how about keepin with yr "shadow" theme. my suggestions:
N. Adumbration : Obscuration : Penumbra : Umbra
V. Adumbrate : Becloud : Inumbrate : Umbrage

All acceptable synonyms.

Or you could go with something just similar, like phantasma/phantasm, vestige or apparition.
Hell, ghost is an easy one. Hope it gives you some ideas.
