Following on from the announcement of the European and US Super Mario Galaxy 2 release dates at the US and European Nintendo Summits held this week, Nintendo has today unveiled lots of lovely SMG2 goodies, including some awesome screenshots, new artwork and logos, and a special Media Summit trailer. We’ve got all the screens and artwork for you right here, and you can view the trailer at the official game site here. As you can see, Yoshi has a big part to play in the new game, up to his old tricks of swallowing items and spitting them back out at enemies, as well as changing colour and adopting new abilities, depending on what he’s eaten. There are also lots of new galaxies to explore and new features and items to discover, including Mario’s new drill, which enables him to tunnel through all manner of obstacles, even whole planets! Welcome back 3D Mario, we’ve missed you buddy!
